چکیده

A 75-year-old man underwent aortic valve replacement for severe regurgitation in 1991. At follow-up, an ascending aortic aneurysm was detected. In 2005, the maximum diameter (MD) was 116 mm. Currently, he has dyspnea. The MD is 140 mm (Fig. 1A and B). He has always rejected another surgery. Fig. 1. (A) CT scan imaging without contrast showing a giant ascending aortic aneurysm with a highly calcified wall. (B) CT scan imaging with intravenous contrast showing the aneurysm compressing the right pulmonary artery (arrow), which, at least in part, could explain the dyspnea.

Giant cell aortitis of the ascending aorta without signs and symptoms of systemic vasculitis

We report a case of a patient with giant cell aortitis – a rare cause of aneurysm of the ascending aorta. Modern imaging techniques show promise in diagnosis, however the diagnosis only after hystopathotological examination was revealed which changed the postoperative management immunosuppression was started together with anticoagulation therapy. Aortic imaging was repeated to precisely assess ...

Aortic Pseudo aneurysm 3 Years after Interposition Tube Graft for Acute Dissection of Ascending Aorta

Introduction: Patients with primary acute aortic dissection are at higher risk of complications, including increasing aortic aneurysm diameter, aortic rupture, aortic pseudo aneurysm, and recurrent aortic dissection. Case presentation We presented the case of a recurrent pseudo aneurysm and rupture of the aorta in the distal a...

Delayed Presentation of a Giant Ascending Aortic Aneurysm following Aortic Valve Replacement

Giant ascending aortic aneurysm formation following aortic valve replacement is rare. A 28-year-old man who underwent aortic valve replacement with a prosthetic valve for aortic regurgitation secondary to congenital bicuspid aortic valve about 10 years ago was diagnosed with a giant ascending aortic aneurysm about 16 cm in diameter in follow-up. The aneurysm was resected leaving the functional ...

Surgical repair for giant ascending aortic aneurysm to superior vena cava fistula with positive syphilitic test

Syphilitic aortitis is usually associated with thoracic aortic saccular aneurysm, aortic regurgitation and coronary ostial stenosis. However, syphilitic aneurysms have rarely been reported today. Here, we report a patient with ascending aortic aneurysm with aorta-superior vena cava (SVC) fistula with positive syphilitic test. A 52-year-old man was admitted to our institution with a giant ascend...

Bicuspid Aortic Valve: An Unusual Cause of Aneurysm of Left Coronary Sinus of Valsalva

Bicuspid aortic valve is traditionally considered an innocuous congenital anomaly. Due to a better and widespread availability of non-invasive imaging techniques, it has come to the fore that 30% of these cases develop complications, viz., valve abnormality (aortic regurgitation and stenosis), and aneurysm of aortic root and ascending aorta. Sinus of Valsalva aneurysm is an uncommon complicatio...
